Without a doubt the very best and earliest copper pans I have had. Beautifully hand made with stunning dove tailed joints, a pan of this quality you just could not find today (and if you did be prepared to pay thousands of dollars)
Made from the heaviest gauge quality french copper it is of epic proportions and would have come from the very finest of french kitchens, a rustic farmhouse piece, it is not!
These beautiful french casserole pots were used to create classics such as coq au vin, for long slowly cooked dishes. The pan would be placed on the hearth and embers from the fire placed into its deeply dished lid, to create an all round even heat source.
Pans of this type were used by the grand father of fine French cuisine Auguste Escoffier for his classic dishes.
This pan is ready to adorn another fine kitchen and accompany you on the french culinary journe and is perfect for creating slow cooked winter stews for all the family.
Beautifully handmade with dine dovetailed joints.

Condition report
Good ready to use condition, joints as good and strong as the day it was made. Some light surface wear to the copper commensurate with its great age. Tinning intact. The Lid has a small crease to the copper, as to be expected of a piece of the age but it is good tight secure fit, and where the crease is it does not effect the sealing of the lid.
